Sam Shakura

Trained at the New York School of Interior Design, the University of British Columbia, and Blanche Macdonald, Sam Shakura is the creative director and owner of the fashion-forward firm, Rock House of Design. With a degree in English Literature/Philosophy, Interior Design and Make Up Artistry/Fashion Styling, her versatility and drive at 23 is, in a word, impressive. Among other various awards, Sam was the recipient of Canada's prestigious National TD Scholarship for Global Leadership & Academics in 2005. Today, Sam co-hosts At Home, a celebrated radio talk show airing once a week nationally on the Corus network. Sam and her business partner, mother and media mogul, Cheryll Gillespie, are internationally trained, sought-after and experienced designers, licensed builders, guest speakers and "fabulous living" experts writing for over 290 national publications. Labeled a "style tastemaker", Sam is currently developing her own fashion, jewelry and décor label, Seven Sins. With a sassy Rock n' Roll attitude and a worldly intellect, Sam Shakura ultimately aims to build a ‘High Style’ empire.
