Meredith Hackler’simpressionistic oil paintings reflect a passion to document the endangered beauty of the natural world. Her passion for landscape as subject stems from growing up camping, hiking, horseback riding in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia.
From an early age she was encouraged to express herself in drawing, painting and photography. Meredith has traveled extensively throughout North America, and studies include Art School in Arizona where she received State honors for portrait work. Since her first solo show in 1996, she has exhibited annually in watercolours and oils, has received numerous awards and commissions including paintings awarded to international environmental events sponsors and a commission for The White House .
In 2003 Meredith was named top professional Eastern British Columbian artist in the Basin’s Best show. Recently, she was commissioned by Fairmont Hot Springs Resort to produce a 15 foot tall tryptuch of the four seasons in the Columbia Valley. Meredith has taught young people art through the elementary school system, and given adult workshops and private lessons regularly over the last 15 years. Ms. Hackler's work continues to garner underground acclaim as well as wide popular recognition, and can be found in private and corporate collections across North America and Europe.
