Statement:
Discovering figurative oil paintings was a revelation to me. I pursued this form for a few years, but over time my style became more suggestive. Nowadays, taking my inspiration from the "naive" school, I paint less rigidly. I use lively colours in the foreground and more subdued tone behind to create an illusion of perspective. The theme I am expressing is one of joyfulness. My favourite subjects are rustic meals and houses that seem to dance to the rhythms of summer. The details I add bring a kind of music to the paintings.
Movement is always at the heart of my compositions. I paint with a long bristled brush called a "trainard. I am self-taught and my passion is to discover things through my art. When I paint I feel happy; I positively glow.
