Jana Milne

Possessing a remarkable aptitude for colour and composition in all areas of her life, Jana discovered a natural ability and passion for painting in the mid 90’s.

Jana was born in Prague and moved to Canada in 1968.

She graduated with a diploma in Graphic Design in ’81 and turned her skills into a successful 20 year career in the field of advertising, design and print production.

It wasn’t surprising to find out that Jana had a desire to paint. First starting in watercolours, pastels and acrylics, she soon moved to her preferred medium – oils.  Her subject matters are diverse. Jana paints what inspires her. Impressionistic still life and figurative drawing and landscapes, she has an uncanny ability for capturing light and mood. This somehow seems to translate well in her more recent acrylic abstract work.

Jana’s work is in private collections throughout North America, Africa and Europe.
