Clifford Jean-Felix was born in Haiti in 1972.
Clifford prefers to emphasize the overall effect of a painting rather than concentrating on details. In order to create a dramatic backdrop that is incredibly textured, Clifford uses layers of complimentary colours, which enhances his luminous characters.
When Clifford senses that the emotions felt are too intense, he transcends them onto his canvas. Through colours and textures, he then tries to give birth to something more comforting and luminous; an image that will reassure him and his viewer. His creations being a spiritual journey, Clifford Jean-Felix paints to transmit intimate moments of introspection.
Moreover, his characters render no specific features, no ethnic distinctions, and they are devoid of physical attributes. Through the absence of detailed physical features, Clifford brings forth human authenticity purged of all artifice. To look upon a Clifford painting is like embarking on a spiritual quest, where one seeks truth, wisdom, and universal peace.
