Biography:

I was born in Liverpool England in 1953. I sailed to Canada in December 1966 on the final Voyage of the Empress of Canada. Living and schooling in Toronto, I found my way into the world of Art by spending my spare time sketching, painting, and experimenting with light and form during visits to the Royal Ontario Museum.

After a trip to the Oshawa Art Gallery to meet famed Canadian painter William Ronald I became fascinated with Art, Culture and whole Art scene. I found the whole experience quite mysterious and decided right there and then that Art was what I wanted to do, and that Art was what I wanted to known for.

I soon discovered that it was a lot easier said than done, but with perseverance and guidance from loyal supporters and teachers like Jim Kraemer I soon found the way. Jim told me “Art was all about passion, without it you will merely be someone who paints, but never an Artist” I have never forgotten that.

Almost 30 years later, and more passionate than ever, I can boast, that I am now collected by corporations and individuals and have sold paintings over the world. Exhibitions have turned to into customers, and customers have turned into friendships, it has all been very rewarding and an experience I will always treasure.”

Dagnall is an eclectic Artist, who classifies his work into three distinct categories. Technical work is where he explores high detail and his classical training. Traditional work is where he captures the Global Landscape in all its reverent beauty.
